Festival of Remembrance:
Honoring the Dead, Celebrating Life
The 27th annual Missoula Festival of Remembrance: Honoring the Dead, Celebrating Life starts in early October and culminates with the annual procession down Higgins Avenue on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 5:30 pm. The 2019 festival includes a series of events engaging the Missoula community in healthy conversations around death, dying and grief.
From a First Friday Art Show at The Artists’ Shop (127 N. Higgins) to a panel discussion on culture and loss at UM, from a Family-Friendly Friday at the Top Hat Lounge showcasing student artwork to a film screening at the Roxy or a poetry reading at Wave & Circuit, the Festival of Remembrance engages and shares the voices and artwork of our Missoula community.
The community shrine will make its way around town for people to add remembrance items and artwork for lost love ones. The Missoula Downtown Foundation is the fiscal sponsor for the Festival, and all Downtown businesses are encouraged to get involved and sponsor the festival. Checks can be directed to the Missoula Downtown Foundation at 218 East Main Street. Please contact Tarn Ream via phone (406-549-7933) or email (tarn.ream@umontana.edu) for more information.
