We’re kicking off a month-long festival run with back-to-back watch parties on December 10th (Best of Fest) and 11th (BCFF 2020). Our goal is to gather our community those two nights, watch the two different film lineups from the safety of our homes and get stoked for the season! Don't worry if you can't make it for the watch party, the film is available until January 10th.

The 16th Annual Backcountry Film Festival is screening documentaries and ski movies about athletic pursuit in the mountains, artistic vision, friendship, and how the snowsports community is adapting to a changing environment. A collage of human-powered stories and backcountry-inspired experiences, BCFF brings wild conversations and inspires action to communities that celebrate the present while looking towards the future.
Ticket Prices are $15 for an individual and $30 for a household.

We depend on the Film Festivals to raise funds that help us plow Hyalite Canyon Road in the Bozeman area and help us maintain access to Gash Point and plow a parking area at West Twin Creek in the Missoula area. We have also donated $1,000 to both the Missoula and Gallatin County Avalanche Centers this year as their main fundraising events have been cancelled by Covid.

To make it more of an “event,” we’ll be posting photos that YOU send us of YOUR family watching the films on our Instagram feed during each virtual watch party. So, send us a photo between 7:00 and 10:00 on either night and we’ll share it on our feed. PLUS you’ll be entered for a chance to win an MBA t-shirt! We’re going to give 5 shirts away to 5 different powder hounds who send us a photo over those two nights!

We’ll be watching the films along with you and posting all the great shots on our Instagram feed @montanabackcountryalliance. We’ll randomly pick 5 winners on Monday, December 14th and reach out via email.
