Footloose Production Class Description:
The Footloose Production Class is for students in 7th-12th grade. Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30PM-6:30PM, November 30 - December 16, January 4-27, and every weekday from 4:30PM-6:30PM, January 31 - February 9. Performances are Thursday, February 10 and Friday, February 11 at 7PM.

MCT's Educator's Note: Footloose is the perfect show to introduce young people to the magic of live musical theatre. Although adapted for teen and pre-teen audiences, the musical explores some mature themes including trauma/grief of losing a loved one either through death or intentional separation; commentary on religious authority as the senior class of Bomont High takes down the town's laws on dancing instituted by Reverend Shaw Moore; and teen relationships and rebellion as lead characters Ren McCormick and Ariel Moore navigate their school and home life while abiding by the strict rules of the town and find some common ground as they get to know each other. The musical also displays very brief accounts and mentions of physical violence.
