Outdoor Gear Stories form the Treasure State
6:00 PM (America/Denver)
Missoula Public Library
Description:
As recreational technologies from tents to hiking boots evolved over the course of the twentieth century, outdoor enthusiasts have argued that the new equipment has changed the outdoor experience. For some, this trend has become an end to itself. Join the discussion on the oral history interviews with Missoula residents to explore 75 years of outdoor recreation history in Missoula. Undergraduate researchers from the Davidson Honors College at the University of Montana, and Rachel Gross, a historian of the outdoor industry, will present Missoula’s outdoor gear stories with a tour of exhibits. Join the discussion in the Large Meeting Room. Two sessions will be presented: 6:00 PM and 7:15 PM
