Patrons can learn about intellectual property (IP) basics from Sarah J. Rhoades of Rhoades IP when Ms.
Rhoades will focus on patents during this free workshop. After an introduction to the different types of IP (patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights), Ms. Rhoades will review the patenting process from invention to application to issue. She will discuss the requirements for patentability and how to determine what type of patent application may be right for you. You will also learn the benefits of conducting a prior art search before filing a patent application and how to search using free search tools.
