Skin Stories: Using Art to Take on RACE
Aja Mujinga Sherrard
Monday, May 20th
10:00- 12 NOON // $20/18
Both a social construct and a lived reality, the subject of race is certainly a complicated one. Join Aja Mujinga Sherrard, Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Montana Western, for this lecture followed by a museum walk-through and discussion. We will take a closer look at how contemporary artists have explored themes of identity and belonging, otherness, injustice, celebration, and confusion wrapped up in the way we understand and experience race.
