Wait, what is going on?

Participants carve a design backwards into a depression cast in resin bonded sand. Any kind of tool can be used to carve any kind of design, but tooling is typically metal. Participants reversed designs can be carved up to one inch deep and within half an inch of the edge of the block. Completed carvings are then poured in molten iron which melts at around 2750 degrees Fahrenheit!

Who?

Jesse Blumenthal and artists from the University of Montana Art Department will assist the community in their creation.

Why?

Free Cycles Community Bicycle Shop is looking to expand its programming into Art. This event (like others organized by Jesse Blumenthal) looks to support this essential Missoula organization as they begin to develop their facilities to better support the Arts in Montana.
