Adult Education: Basic Photography with RMSP Description:
You love photography, but it seems so complicated.

You have a nice camera, but don't understand all the bells and whistles.

You want to learn more, but it's hard to find the time to focus on your hobby.

This Basic Photography course, offered in our Adult Education program, will get you back in touch with your camera and allow you dedicated time to focus on the building blocks of photography. Meeting six times over the course of three weeks, this course begins with the basics and progresses from there.

Instructors Neil Chaput de Saintonge and Sarah Ehlen will cover topics including how to use f-stops, shutter speeds and ISO to achieve proper exposure in any light, the basics of composition, photo equipment commonly used including cameras, lenses and tripods, as well as techniques for creating better nature images and photographs of people. A portion of one class will introduce you to Adobe Lightroom, and how it can help you manage your ever-growing library of images. Each class will include lectures, demonstrations, Q & A, assignments, and (except for the first) image critique by Neil and Sarah.

You will need a digital SLR camera for this class as well as a way to edit and view your images.
