Applied Zoopharmacognosy: Helping Animals Heal

Applied Zoopharmacognosy: Helping Animals Heal Description:
Since animals have co-evolved with plant life for millennia, their knowledge of how to heal themselves using the plants in their environment is innate. By eating various plants animals can get direct access to specific medicinal properties, helping to maintain their health or heal from wounds, infections or injuries. An example would be how birds add certain sticks to their nests, which have antibacterial properties. Michelle Coburn will offer details on how animals know which plants to select in this workshop. Join Elaine Sheff later the same day for a slide show and herb walk to get to know our local medicinals and get a total of $10 off the day.
