Prerequisite- some musical experience or completion of Sonic Synergy 1. We will begin using science experiments and demonstrations to illustrate sonic concepts and the principles by which musical instruments produce sound. Again, homemade and prepared instruments will be used in exercises and games, but this time the camper's native instruments will also be incorporated. Campers will be exposed to the talents of many well known Missoula musicians each day with a lunch hour live concert followed by a question and answer session. The intent of this camp is to break the mold of how children think about their instruments, and will begin to see them in more creative and empowering ways. By the final day of camp, we will have created compositions using both our native and home-built instruments, and the week will culminate with a live performance at Family Friendly Friday at The Top Hat!
