Gallery Opening: "Escapism is So Underrated" Description:
"A Second Home: Escapism is So Underrated" is a collection of paintings and photographs, each having a story to tell featuring realistically whimsical living spaces, as if the stage were set for the characters to walk onto the scene. Viewers are invited to be the main characters and it is their imaginations that allow them to visit these intimate surroundings.
About the Artist
After years of dreaming about it, I have opened my own gallery. Gallery Nine connie dillon fine art in Billings. Besides numerous Art Walks, my work has been juried into Yellowstone Art Museum annual auctions, Dana Gallery's 2012 & 2014 Icons of the West exhibits, ZACC's Mini Gala auctions, the Hockaday Museum in Kalispell, Sandpiper Gallery in Polson and the View Gallery in the Adirondacks, NY. My paintings and photographs are being represented by Robert Tompkins Fine Art Gallery, formerly Purple Sage Gallery, in Billings. Besides being an artist, I am also a produced playwright, having had staged productions in Billings and Pittsburgh and readings in NYC. My writing has enhanced my visual art, allowing me to develop stories about the characters whose unseen presence is integral to each piece.
