Canadian indie rockers Mother Mother have signed to Def Jam Recordings in the states and will release their latest album Very Good Bad Thing on April 7th, available for pre-order now. Exclusive album bundle packages including an online-exclusive T-shirt, CD, digital download, and a postcard signed by the band are also available.
The quintet have now announced a massive headlining tour hitting New York, LA, Chicago, Washington DC and many more, and including festival appearances at Sasquatch, Firefly and SummerFest. Touring in support of their upcoming LP, the band's first release with Def Jam sees Mother Mother expanding its sonic palate to integrate electronic and rock elements while delving deep into the complexities of the human condition in all its tragic, conflicting nature.
Much like the band members themselves, each song on Very Good Bad Thing has its own distinct personality. Where lead single "Monkey Tree" ambles brightly as its feral message to let go of technology and embrace your inner animal unfolds, "Modern Love" offers a weightless chorus that shimmers with anticipation, and stripped down track "Reaper Man" builds to a sinful, throbbing apex.
Having previously released the moody video to accompany lead track, "Monkey Tree," today Mother Mother unleashes the "Monkey Tree" live video to give fans new and old a breath of the incredible energy to expect as they hit the road for a massive tour, beginning this May.
Mother Mother is not just a Canadian phenom. The band--which includes frontman Ryan Guldemond, singer-keyboardist Jasmin Parkin, bassist Jeremy Page, drummer Ali Siadat, and Ryan's sister, singer-keyboardist Molly Guldemond--has toured the U.S. extensively, including dates with Imagine Dragons and AWOLNATION. Produced by Gavin Brown (Metric, 3 Days Grace), who was instrumental in indulging the bands countless ideas by distilling with a singular vision, Very Good Bad Thing follows the band's desire to expand their soundscapes and continue their creative progression.
