Join us at the Lee Metcalf Wildlife Viewing Area for an all-access hike. This hike offers a pretty view of the Bitterroot and opportunity to see a variety of birds. We are walking near water and some edges are steep. There is also a viewing platform out over some fast-moving water as well as a bridge. This is an out-and-back hike of about a mile.
The WVA is on the west side of the refuge. The easiest way to get there is to take Highway 93 south to the Stevi Cutoff Road (turn left at the stoplight by Super 1 Foods). Once in Stevensville, take the first left on to the Eastside Highway, then take the very next left on Wildfowl Way. Follow this road until you see a large gravel lot on the left side of the road. We will meet by the gate by the only paved parking spots. (You will likely see me hauling a big green walker or wrangling twins!) This is a kid led hike, so the pace is set by them!
