Beautiful Lydia Larkspur dreams of loving an impoverished artist. Sir Jack Absolute knows this, so he woos and wins her disguised as "Waverly", a starving composer. Soon Jack's father and Lydia's guardian Mrs.Malaprop insist that Lydia make a proper match to a young man in her own class. Now Jack must woo her as himself - and explain his earlier disguise.In fact, he becomes his own rival for the love of fair Lydia. How does it turn out? Comical chaos ensues......
