Part dance, part live theater, this production is a deeply personal story of two artists whose relationship deteriorated as the result of a quiet struggle with depression and suicide. The production explores the darkness of mental illness and unveils an inspired, true story about two lives bound together through music and dance. Last season, Lineage brought Ceiling in The Floor to New York City, Santa Clara University, Cal Arts and various high schools in LA. It's Lineage's most requested dance performance and has taken on a life of its own since the LA premiere. A panel discussion will follow the performance, focusing on Montana's suicide crisis, the stigma of mental illness, and utilizing the arts to help educate people and save lives. Proceeds will benefit PROJECTTOMORROWMONTANA.ORG, whose mission is to reduce the number of suicides and suicide attempts through collaborative efforts that promote, support, and increase awareness, prevention, intervention, and recovery. Montana had the highest suicide rate in the United States in 2014, when last documented.

Lineage Dance Company is being brought to Missoula in February by the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and will be performing a show about breast cancer survivors on Wednesday, February 22nd as well as screening a film they produced, Healing Blue. The lineage dancers have garnered much national respect and notoriety for their professional dance over the years.
