BSDFF - Los Lecheros, The Native Tongue, The Quiet Zone, Room 140 Description:
Los Lecheros: The fates of undocumented immigrant workers and Wisconsin’s $43 billion dairy industry are closely intertwined – and both are grappling with their options for survival as fears of ICE raids and deportations under the Trump administration grow.

The Quiet Zone: In a remote mountainous region of West Virginia a community of electro-sensitives lives in the shadow of a massive radio telescope. Sheltered from a barrage of cell phone signals and other wireless frequencies, the electro-sensitives struggle to heal themselves while reflecting the growing concerns regarding the permeation of communications technology.

The Native Tongue: The Blackfoot language had been passed down from elders and parents to their youth for generations. With the introduction of the residential school system, much of this heritage has been lost. As the survival of the Blackfoot language becomes threatened, THE NATIVE TONGUE examines the importance of both young and old involvement in preserving a culture and reviving a native tongue that once thrived throughout the Siksika reserve.

Room 140: Immigrants just released from detention centers spend their first night in Oakland at a motel paid for by one of the workers. For one night of respite, the weary travelers rest, reflect, and prepare for the next phase of their journey.
