\n
Camps at the Clay Studio of Missoula are a fantastic way for kids to get creative this summer! Working with clay engages both the body and brain! We learn to think creatively while fine-tuning motor muscles, all while making something cool and having fun!\n
\n
For kids who like the idea of making fun pottery they can use! We’ll be exploring the huge world of handbuilt pots and make some fun, functional pieces like mugs, bowls, boxes, plates, and vases! (Please note, this camp is handbuilding, NOT wheel).\n
\n
Camps are divided by age range to group kids with creative peers they can make friends with! All camps are beginner friendly in that building methods will be covered to help everyone learn to make things that are sturdy and safe as possible for firing!\n
\n
Camps at the Clay Studio also include a mid-class activity break to help kids stretch, move, and keep from burning out creatively. If weather permits, we take a walk a few blocks to nearby Westside Park, where kids can run and play awhile, and have a light snack to recharge.\n
\n
We provide a single serving of a light snack to students in class - such as a serving of goldfish crackers, fruit snacks, or a piece of fresh fruit. If your child has a bigger appetite or normally eats lunch during the time camp takes place, parents are encouraged to send their child with a lunch or additional snacks. Every parent should send a water bottle with their child to ensure they stay hydrated when working with clay in hot weather.\n
\n
*A Family Membership with your children as submembers is required to qualify for the discount. Individual memberships provide discounts for classes which the membership holding individual is taking, and do not apply to family members.
