Activity Grab Bags for Kids

Description:
Stop by Missoula Public Library at 455 E. Main St in December, January and February to pick up a grab bag of activities presented by spectrUM Discovery Area, Families First Learning Lab, UM Living Lab and the Missoula Public Library Children's Department. The bag will have four different activities that promote STEM learning, emotional development, and early literacy. The UM Living Lab activity invites parents to learn how their children understand ownership and creative work while doing a short arts-and-craft activity with their child. The UM Living Lab is part of the LINK, a Science Education Partnership Award (NIH) funded collaboration between the City of Missoula, University of Montana, and Missoula Public Library to inspire the next generation. We will hand out grab bags one day per week during our curbside service. December pickup dates and times are as follows: 3rd from 1-3 PM, 9th from 2-4 PM, 15th from 3-5 PM, 21st from 4-6 PM and 29th from 2-4 PM. The activities stay the same throughout the month. 1:00-3:00 PM

Grab Bags Activity Details for the University Living Lab: Who Owns Creative Work- Does the person with the artistic vision or the person who does the physical work own a piece of art? With the UM Living Lab take-home activity, parents are invited to learn how their children understand ownership and creative work while doing a short arts-and-craft activity. This activity is available in the grab bags handed out throughout December.
