MNCH: First Friday Holiday Pop-Up Description:
Save the date! The Montana Natural History Center is pleased to announce a Holiday Pop-Up! This First Friday open house event will provide an opportunity to connect with fellow nature lovers while do some holiday shopping. Enjoy light refreshments and after-hours museum access while you peruse the work of several talented local artists.

Artists include:

Kelli Van Noppen / Valley House Woodworking

Kelli’s hand carved woodwork has long been a favorite local craft of MNHC. From spoons to bowls to cutting boards to combs, Valley House Woodworking features one-of-a-kind wood pieces that make thoughtful and unique gifts, even if it’s just for yourself!








Elena Ulev

Elena has been crafting and selling her wares in Missoula for over twenty years at the People’s Market, various craft fairs and several shops downtown. She makes hand-hammered metal jewelry and paints tiny watercolor scenes inspired by her job as a naturalist.







Gretel Stoudt / Gretel Goods

Gretel Goods is a one woman operation based out of Missoula and Hot Springs, Montana. Gretel creates kaftans and ponchos from repurposed textiles as well as leather tool wraps, which are great for camping and art supplies. In addition, she enjoys curating handpicked imported goods from her travels. She is also a visual artist and Reiki Master.




Aspen and Cameron Decker/ X?lx?ilt (Alive & Well Salish Education Integration)

Aspen is an enrolled member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (T?at?ayáqn, Ql?isp?é and Sqlsé), speaks her tribal language, Nsélišcn (Salish), and received her MA in linguistics last year. Her husband is Diné, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, and a descendant of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai tribes, and he holds an MFA in Integrated Arts in Education. Together, Aspen and Cameron have over twenty years combined experience in tribal education. Their mission is for reservations, tribes, and communities to be x?lx?ilt (alive and well) through access to authentic Indigenous educational experiences.

Erynn McNeill/ Up Moss Creek Studio

Erynn is an artist, biologist, and scientific illustrator. Inspired by their own imagination and wilderness experiences in the northwest, Up Moss Creek Studio combines dark naturalism with scientific illustration to create original artworks, jewelry and oddities made from found and foraged natural elements. They are currently based in Florence, MT, where they share a small studio with their dog, Dagwood.





Brianca Thornton / Bellis Botanicals

Bellis Botanicals jewelry is inspired by nature and made with pressed flowers and leaves or colorful polymer clay. Brianca has been creating jewelry for several years and is happy to now be making her way into the community and also selling online. She is so excited to be joining MNHC on First Friday and looks forward to sharing nature inspired creations for you to wear and gift!
