Description:
In celebration of 30 days of Innovation, join visiting State Department fellows from Vietnam and Thailand as they showcase an innovative award-winning film, an innovative literacy program to bring a children's library to underserved populations, and offer samples of some of Vietnam's most delicious cuisine of fried and fresh spring rolls. Thai filmmaker Patiparn Boontarig will discuss a selection from the award-winning documentary, Manta Ray, about a Rohingya refugee and the Thai fisherman who rescues him. Phung Ba Hung will discuss the scarcity of libraries in Vietnam and his free community library that has grown from 30 to 1800 readers. This event is free and open to the public, but we encourage donations of your gently used or new children's books, which the Mansfield Center will ship to Vietnam. Program is 12pm-1pm in the Innovation Factory.
