Responding to children effectively
while maintaining composure in
stressful situations can be a challenge
for most parents and child care providers.
While there is no magic wand for
children to behave with perfect compliance,
there are tactics and principles
that can help caregivers identify and
resolve what might be causing a child
to behave in an undesirable way.
Identifying antecedents to unwanted
behavior, including context and reinforcing
agents, is the key to moving
forward with a plan to support the
child. In this class, you’ll receive an
overview of proven authoritative and
responsive parenting practices, create
a custom set of goals for you and
your child, and write a simple strategic
plan to implement right away in order
to move towards your goals. No child
care is available. Approved for 3 Early
Child Practitioner credits.
