Five exceptional conductors from across the globe will come to Missoula this concert season as finalists for our next Music Director. Two women and three men are vying to lead the Missoula Symphony & Chorale into the next decade. Each finalist has selected a unique program showcasing their talents and distinct styles. Steven Smith has served as music director of Virginia’s Richmond Symphony, the Santa Fe Symphony & Chorus, as well as the Grammy Award-winning Cleveland Chamber Symphony (CCS), an ensemble devoted to the performance of contemporary music.
