Beth Lo studied ceramics with Rudy Autio at UM and was herself a professor there for over 30 years. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums all over the world. "Cultural marginality and blending tradition vs. Westernization, language and translation are key elements of my work...." says Lo. "I use the image of the child as a symbol of innocence, potential, and vulnerability."

Josh DeWeese has made an indelible mark on the field of ceramics as a teacher at MSU Bozeman, as an artist in collections worldwide, and as the Resident Director of the Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts for 14 years. He writes, "Pottery's greatest power is its association with the human body...necks and feet, bellies and shoulders, and lips to touch our lips.... An intimate relationship develops and pots become our friends."
