The Shark Is Broken is a fast-paced, darkly comic behind-the-scenes look at the famously troubled production of Jaws. Stranded aboard the Orca while the mechanical shark repeatedly fails, actors Robert Shaw, Roy Scheider, and Richard Dreyfuss pass the endless delays by drinking, gambling, arguing, trading stories, and getting increasingly on one another's nerves. Funny, tense, and surprisingly poignant, the play explores the personalities and relationships behind one of cinema's most iconic films.
Audience Advisory: This production contains strong language, alcohol use, and mature themes. Recommended for mature audiences.
