Industry Insiders: A Holistic View Of The Publishing Industry
2:00 PM (America/Denver)
Online
Description:
2 - 3 pm

This panel discussion will include publishing insiders Julie Stevenson (agent, Massie & McQuilkin); Joey Paxman (non-fiction editor, PM Press); Mara Panich (owner, Fact & Fiction Books); and Emily Ruskovich (author, graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and current University of Montana professor). Learn about the industry from the bottom up, from writing a book to seeing it on the shelf at your local, independent bookstore. Does Emily teach toward publishing? How does Mara choose the books on Fact & Fiction bookshelves? What does Joey look for in a manuscript? What exactly does Julie do?

This virtual event is proudly sponsored by Arts Missoula and will be recorded by Missoula Access Community Television as part of a Media Assistance Grant donated to the Montana Book Festival by MCAT.
