Will Orchard Jess Kerber Dusty the Kid adam
7:00 PM (America/Denver GMT-06:00)
Zootown Arts Community Center
Description:
Will Orchard is a songwriter from the east bay of Rhode Island. He began writing songs as a
teenager and dipped his feet into the Providence, Rhode Island music scene in the mid-2010’s
with his experimental folk project, littleboybigheadonbike. Orchard’s next release is due may 2022
via Better Company, titled ‘go home instead’. Featuring four members of San Fermin, the EP
displays a vulnerable, dynamic, and lush collection of songs decorated with sweeping strings and
peppered with lo-fi charm. It will be followed by dates throughout Texas, New England and the
West Coast with Jess Kerber.
Jess Kerber is a songwriter who hails from just outside New Orleans, LA. Jess was Boston’s
Berklee College of Music 2018 Berklee Lollapalooza Full Scholarship recipient. Shortly before the
emergence of the pandemic, she crossed paths with fellow New England based songwriter Will
Orchard, who became her partner and collaborator. The pair spent much of the early days of the
pandemic producing what would become Kerber’s eponymous full length record, which marked
a sharp turning point in her sound. Arranged with a cosmic blend of instruments ranging from
drum machine to pedal steel, the record is rooted in americana but takes the genre several steps
forward. Mixed by Charlie Dahlke of rising indie-rock fixture The Brazen Youth, the record has
moments both gently uplifting and serenely heartbreaking.
Hailing from the mountains of Western Montana, Dusty The Kid brings politically charged
folk with grim determination and idealistic hope. A multi-instrumentalist, actor, and playwright,
The Kid weaves stories with the sounds of olde tyme mountain songs, rowdy pub sessions, and
coal covered folk punk.
Textured arrangements and sometimes autobiographical (but always deeply personal) lyrics
have earned ‘adam’. (Adam G. Holden) a spot in the long line of great singer-songwriters who
coax music out of the most tender parts of themselves. Heavily inspired by giants like Jeff
Buckley, Elliott Smith, and Leonard Cohen, ‘adam’ stands on the shoulders of those who came
before him.
