What to expect:

Step-by-step instruction: Local painter Shay Estvold, will guide you through the process of creating a botanical diagram of one of the most unique orchids out there: Macodes petola - The Lightning Jewel Orchid. This orchid is known for it's shimmering lightning-bolt veins and compact form. What's more? You'll take an orchid home with you to grow along with your artistic talents! The design may look complex, but Shay will break it down for you in way that's approachable for all abilities. You'll prep your canvas, trace the orchid, and fill it in with color (think color-by-numbers).

All materials provided:

We'll provide everything you need to paint your masterpiece, including paints, brushes, canvases, and aprons.



A new plant friend:

Each participant will take home their very own jewel orchid to grow along with their artistic talents.



BYOB:

Bring your favorite beverage to sip while you paint, whether it's wine, bubbly water, or tea. We'll provide cups, ice, and some light snacks to go with!
