EMBERS Education Series - Cancer Survivorship
12:00 PM (America/Denver)
St. Patrick Hospital
Description:
After Cancer Treatment: What’s Next?
Thursday, June 20th @ 12-1 pm, Broadway Building, Conference Center 1
EMBERS is a comprehensive supportive services program within the Montana Cancer Center designed to meet the physical, spiritual, and emotional concerns of cancer patients.

Our next EMBERS Education Series forum will cover After Cancer Treatment: What’s Next? When cancer treatment ends, what comes next for cancer patients? During treatment, patients have a care team, which can include oncologists, nurses, a dietitian, a counselor, social workers, and a patient navigator. Some may lean on extra support from extended family members, a faith community, or even a book club or sports team. After treatment, patients may lose some of this support, or experience simultaneous and seemingly paradoxical feelings such as relief and grief. In this Education Series forum, our EMBERS caregivers will describe what concerns they see arise for post-treatment patients, and how they can help patients on their journey to re-establish relationships – to food, to family and friends, to their community, and to themselves.

This presentation is free and open to anyone who has an interest in whole person care for cancer patients. Snacks will be served.
This forum qualifies for 1.0 CNE for continuing education credits.
