No Kings Day Parade and Rally!
The Missoula June 14th event, which coincides with Flag Day and Trump’s shameful military parade birthday party, will be a community parade followed by a rally. The parade will begin at 4PM at the Xes. The parade will feature as many different community organizations, affiliation groups (e.g. military branches, PRIDE, returned Peace Corps volunteers, etc…) as possible, along with accompanying marching music. Community groups are encouraged to bring flags, banners, and community art with them as they march.
At the conclusion of the parade, the rally program will begin. The focus of the rally is on how the United States is a democracy representing a diverse and resilient people, not a kingdom. Speakers will highlight that resilience and will feature groups that our government has tried to force to assimilate (most of which also have June days of celebration): the U.S. military, African Americans, LGBTQIA2S , and Native Americans.
Following speeches, the event will be a community celebration featuring local musicians, information tables from local community organizations, and food trucks
