3 Day Annual Mullan Road Conference

Description:
During the Three-Day Mullan Road Conference (June 9-11), there will be two Preconference Walking Tours along portions of the Historic Mullan Road that start at 1:00pm on Friday 6/9/23. That night there will be a Reception, Late Registration and a special talk on "Hunting (John) Bull in the Northern Rockies: US-British/Canadian Tensions and the Mullan Road, 1804 - 1925"... which starts at 6:30pm.
There will be Local, State and Regional Speakers all day Saturday 6/10/23 from 8:30am to 5:00pm including two representatives of the Salish & Kootenai Tribes (Sadie Peone & Thompson Smith), who will speak about "Transportation, Transformation, and Resistance" along the Mullan Road. Drinks, Snacks, a Buffet Lunch and a Unique Dinner will be Provided on Saturday. Dinner on Saturday will be at 6:30pm and will be a Native American Cuisine of Mouth-Watering Bison Chili and Huckleberry Cheese Cake. Our Very Special Dinner Speaker will be Greg Dumontier, who is a member of the Salish & Kootenai Culture Committee. His talk is titled: "Building Roads to Serve a Broader Purpose... Sunday is reserved for a Special and Unique Bus Tour along existing and disappearing portions of the Mullan Road both East and West of Missoula. The Sunday Bus Tour is from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
