Description:
Early summer is the peak season for wildflowers in the Missoula Valley, when hillsides come alive with color and diversity. Join Montana Master Naturalist and nature tour guide Elena Ulev for a guided 1.5-mile walk on Mount Jumbo. Along the way, you’ll discover around 20 native wildflower species, from delicate kitten tails to prairie smoke, and learn a simple, engaging approach to identifying wildflowers and flowering shrubs, as well as their importance to both wildlife and humans. The class meets at the Lincoln Hills Trailhead of Mount Jumbo. Please wear good hiking shoes and bring water.
