Every Instinct Is An Impulse

For Radius Gallery's next exhibition we're delighted to present new works by Susan R. Carlson, DG House & Sheila Miles. While skilled with and attentive to the formal qualities of art?line and shape, color, composition and the like-these three seasoned artists all infuse their works with a certain joie de vivre that comes straight from the heart, from an instinctive sense of how art at its best transcends formalism, to be received by viewers in bright bursts as much felt as seen.

The title of the show is drawn from an 1887 essay titled "What is an Instinct?" by the ground-breaking philosopher and psychologist William James.
