Bugs and Brews: The Hidden World of Stick Insects
6:30 PM (America/Denver)
Missoula Insectarium
Description:
What happens when you mix after hours access to the Insectarium, local beers, and a fascinating expert lecturer? You get the Missoula Insectarium’s evening lecture series: “Bugs and Brews”!

Can you imagine spending your entire life playing “hide and seek” and “red light, green light”? Welcome to the world of some of the most hidden and mysterious critters on Earth. Stick and leaf insects are the masters of disguise: from green leaves to pieces of bark or twigs, they evolved all sort of mind-blowing body forms, coloration and behaviors. Romain Boisseau is a French entomologist pursuing his PhD with the University of Montana. Join us as we explore their incredible diversity and his work on the evolution of the extreme differences that exist between males and females in these insects.
