Description:
Spring Session: Continuing Pottery
Thursdays, 2-5PM
April 2 - June 4
Teaching Artist: Ethan Arias
$330 members / $345 nonmembers
This class is for those who have taken at least one beginning pottery class or have existing skills of intermediate level (can center, open, and pull basic pots, trim, and make basic attachments).
Students already possessing basic wheel throwing skills can further their abilities. Take the opportunity to investigate more intensive aspects of thrown functional forms including making sets, multiple part pieces, working larger, and surface techniques. There will be additional focus on how to work more intentionally as a maker.
Cone 6 and 10 clay body and studio firing options will be available.
Requirements: Have taken at least one Beginning Pottery or be familiar with the basic techniques (center, open, pull - create cylinders and bowls, trim, make handles).
Included in class fee:
First bag of clay
Firing fees for all work created during the 10-week class session (size limit- items must not measure more than 20” in any direction), including participation in one soda firing if desired.
Access to work in studio outside of class meeting time
Access outside of class time will be restricted to business hours when other classes and programs are not in session in the classroom, and additional monitored times. Your instructor will orient you on how to reserve open studio access on the first day of class.
We ask that students comply with all of our health and safety guidelines. Students must sign a class waiver at the beginning of any class to confirm their agreement and provide an up-to-date emergency contact for studio records.
Class is limited to 12 students max.
