Almost a century ago, the Austrian director Fritz Lang created what remains one of the most enduring and visionary films ever made--Metropolis, a vision of urban life in the distant year 2026. This May, The Roxy pays tribute to Lang's achievement with a series of extraordinary movies set in the sprawling, beautiful, and deadly cities of the future.

In the smog-choked dystopian Los Angeles of 2019, blade runner Rick Deckard is called out of retirement to terminate a quartet of replicants who have escaped to Earth seeking their creator for a way to extend their short life spans. Before starting the job, Deckard goes to the Tyrell Corporation, and he meets Rachel (Sean Young), a Replicant girl he falls in love with.
