Spring Session: Beginning Pottery
Tuesdays, 10AM-1PM
March 31 - June 2
Teaching Artist: Casey Burton
$330 members / $345 nonmembers
This class is for beginners, repeat students welcome.
A well-rounded basic pottery class! Learn to create basic pottery forms on the wheel and by using handbuilding techniques. Learn to trim pots to enhance their appearance and add details such as handles and decorative feet. You'll also learn some decorating techniques with slip and glaze to help make your pottery unique, and have time to practice what you’ve learned and get instructor feedback.The goal of this class is to gain a grasp on the basic techniques involved in pottery making.
Requirements: A positive attitude and desire to try and learn!
Included in class fee:
First bag of clay
Firing fees for all work created during the 10-week class session (size limit- items must not measure more than 20” in any direction)
Access to work in studio outside of class meeting time
Access outside of class time will be restricted to business hours when other classes and programs are not in session in the classroom, and additional monitored times. Your instructor will orient you on how to reserve open studio access on the first day of class.
We ask that students comply with all of our health and safety guidelines. Students must sign a class waiver at the beginning of any class to confirm their agreement and provide an up-to-date emergency contact for studio records.
Class is limited to 12 students max.
