Description:
Celebrate Earth Day with Julia Galloway exploring her Endangered Species Project

Celebrate Earth Day early with Julia Galloway at Radius Clayworks!

Join the dynamic Julia Galloway?UM Ceramics Professor and Ceramics Monthly?s Artist of the Year?as she catches us up-to-date on her ambitious Endangered Species project. This project sheds light on an important ecological issue of our time and presents a fantastic exemplar of how art can help raise awareness.

Julia is carving the likeness of species on an urn for every endangered and extinct animal in the US, somewhere north of 1300 individual urns. The series is set to launch in 2025 at the Missoula Art Museum. The series will tour across the U.S. in an effort to make an often intangible but urgent concern more seen, felt and acted upon.

We can?t wait to delve into the ceramic techniques, inspirations, and environmental activism surrounding this incredible series of works.

When: Wed, April 17 @ 5:00pm
Where: Radius Clayworks, 124 N. Higgins Ave.
