Seed Swap and Free Seed Saving Class
10:00 AM
Missoula Public Library
Description:
We will have lots of FREE seeds available for you to take home and if you have any to SHARE or trade please bring them! We will also have a House Plant Swap this year. Bring any healthy houseplants (no larger than a 6" pot) you would like to re-home.

In addition to the seeds, there will be two informational talks.

11am: BLUE ORCHARD MASON BEES
Listen to a presentation about Osmia Lignaria, a wild, native-to-MT, solitary pollinator bee. Mason bees are great pollinators but they don't form hives, don't have a queen, and don't make honey. They are easy to encourage in your yard with very little work. Come learn how!

12:30pm: BASICS OF SEED SAVING
Learn some seed saving basics so you can keep and share your favorite garden plants. This workshop will cover the basics so you can save some seed at the end of this season and have them for your garden next year! The workshop will cover: the benefits of saving seed; some relevant plant anatomy; plant selection and preparation techniques; and how to gather, process and store different seeds for the future.
