Montana to Mali & Back Again: A Career in Public Health Description:
Breanna Barger-Kamate, MD grew up in Arlee, Montana and first went to Mali while working for the National Institute of Health. After her third year of Medical School she was accepted into the Fogarty International Health Scholars program which let her return to Mali in the fall of 2007. While there she created the Mali Medical Relief Fund, a fund that supports five facilities in Mali. Breanna is currently an attending physician at Providence Sacred Heart in Spokane, Washington.
The Global Public Health Spring 2019 Lecture series features health professionals who work to improve public health around the world sharing their experiences and insights weekly during the Spring semester.
