Global Public Health Lecture Series: “From a Syringe Exchange in Montana to Leishmaniasis in India: A Native Missoulian's Traverse Across Global Health Research, Policy, & Academia"
Natalie Dial, DrPH Candidate, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine was born and raised in Missoula, graduating from the UM in 2011 with a BS in Microbiology. She went on to study malaria in The Gambia during a master’s in Global Health at UCSF, gaining an interest (and another master’s) in Health Policy from USC. In 2015 Natalie worked at Missoula’s Open Aid Alliance as an HIV tester and counselor and managed the syringe exchange program. She’s now finishing a Doctorate in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, studying Leishmaniasis in India—and will share her current work on cost-effectiveness of case finding along with other entertaining stories about disease, policy, and developing a career in Public Health that all started in Missoula.
The Global Public Health Spring 2020 Lecture series features health professionals who work to improve public health around the world sharing their experiences and insights weekly during the Spring semester.
