Early History of the Lower Rattlesnake Valley Description:
Rattlesnake Stories: Early History of the Lower Rattlesnake Valley-Salish and Settlers
Sunday, February 26, 2-3:30 pm,
Friends and colleagues Myrna Dumontier and Sally Thompson will share their knowledge of early history of the lower Rattlesnake Valley. Myrna’s Salish history dates back to the end of the Pleistocene with the emptying of Glacial Lake Missoula and continues on to this very day. Sally’s ethnohistorical research zooms in on early settlement by non-Indians, in particular through the lens of Greenough Park. The presentation will be at the Missoula Public Library, Cooper B402, on the 4th floor.
