Bugs and Brews: Monarchs in the Bitterroot Valley
6:30 PM (America/Denver)
Montana Natural History Center
Description:
What happens when you mix local beers and a fascinating expert bug lecturer? You get the Missoula Butterfly House & Insectarium’s evening lecture series: “Bugs and Brews”! Every month we will have a new expert lecturer discuss a fascinating topic relating to bugs. Some of our past talks have been on Animal Weapons, Pests, Native Bees, Sea Spiders and more! We want to give a huge THANK YOU to our primary sponsor of our unique lecture series: Draught Works!

Join us as we welcome Maggie Hirschauer, a wildlife biologist coordinating the Bitterroot Monarch Project through the MPG Ranch. Come learn the latest on the western monarch population status and hear about Maggie’s recent trip to overwintering sites in California. Maggie will talk also about her findings from the Bitterroot Monarch Project’s first year of milkweed surveys in the Bitterroot Valley, as well as her captive rearing and tagging efforts last summer.

Please note that this event is taking place at our temporary location, the Montana Natural History Center. You’ll be able to find us there at 120 Hickory Street, down near Currents and the baseball stadium.
