Protect the Clearwater: Forest Plan Wrkshp & Open House Description:
The Idaho Conservation League (ICL), Montana Wilderness Association (MWA), and Great Burn Conservation Alliance (GBCA) are teaming up to host a workshop about the draft management plan for the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest, just across the stateline in Idaho. A number of recommendations in this plan are concerning and include opening the proposed Great Burn Wilderness to snowmobiles. At our workshop we will also talk about other proposals for wilderness and wild and scenic rivers and how you can get involved.

The workshop will last about an hour, and then we will head over to an open house that the Forest Service is hosting about this plan at 10:00 AM. The workshop will help you get ready to ask questions and share your viewpoints with Forest Service staff at the public meeting. The public meeting will be at the Northern Rockies Training Center, located at 5765 West Broadway, near the airport. If you are uncomfortable testifying, then there is no need to worry. The public meeting is an open house format where you can ask questions and talk face-to-face with members of the Forest Service planning team. This is a critical opportunity to help protect the proposed Great Burn Wilderness and other special places.
