Rachel Cargle: Black Solidarity Summit Keynote Description:
The University of Montana Black Student Union, African American Studies Program and Student Involvement Network invite the Missoula community to an evening with Rachel Cargle: a public academic, writer, and lecturer.
Cargle has been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, Mashable and even Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk. She has written articles like “How to talk to your family about racism on Thanksgiving,” “What it really means when you say ‘All lives matter,’” and “When white people are uncomfortable, black people are silenced.” Her activism and academic work are rooted in providing intellectual discourse, tools, and resources that explore the intersection of race and womanhood. Her social media platforms boast a community of over 315k where Rachel guides conversations, encourages critical thinking and nurtures meaningful engagement with people all over the world.
