Description:
Wintertime in the Montana woods is a quiet and magical place. In this class you will stroll 1.5 miles around Maclay Flat with a Master Naturalist and look at birds, mammals, trees and lichens and discuss their adaptations to the cold conditions. Expect to see hawks, black-capped chickadees, red squirrels, ten species of lichen and the beautiful Bitterroot River, to name just a few. The resident porcupine or great gray owl may make an appearance as well! The class meets at Maclay Flat. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear suitable for winter conditions.
