The Global Public Health Lecture series features health professionals working to improve public health around the world sharing their experiences and insights weekly during the Spring semester.•Joe Russell’s work is focused on food safety and outbreak prevention and response. Joe teaches and helped create curriculum on managing food emergencies and outbreaks of foodborne illness as an adjunct instructor with the National Center for Biomedical Research and Training at Louisiana State University. Joe also consults with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention nationally and internationally. He retired from leading the Flathead City-County Health Department in 2017 after 30 years ago in governmental public health.
