Stitching & Crafting Resistance
3:30 PM (America/Denver)
Missoula Public Library
Stitching & Crafting Resistance Description:
Missoula Public Library, Cooper Space B (South), level 4

Calling all resisting stitchers & crafters!
Come join our initial meeting and:
1) stitch & craft with like-minded members of the Resistance; bring your own "leave-no-trace" project*
2) brainstorm & plan craftivism actions we can take!

3:30-5:30pm: I booked the room for 2 hours, & I'll be there during that time, but please feel free to come for as long as you can. Leave early, arrive late, it's all good.

"Leave-no-trace" crafts: Is this a thing? It is now! Bring your craft as long as it doesn't make a mess or leave any residuals behind, please & thank you

The ultimate goal of this group is to be able to use stitching & crafting as peaceful protest, so we need to be portable, nimble, and leave no trace behind wherever we demonstrate. I imagine many of us will be knitters, crocheters, embroiderers, sewists etc, but other creative endeavors are very very welcome!

We've seen some compelling examples of the Stitching Resistance in action, & think this could be another great tactic to counter the Regime.

WHY? Craftivists create an undeniably peaceful presence; it's hard for ICE to live out their Call-of-Duty cosplay fantasies when facing down knitters, crocheters, embroiderers (& inflatables, singers, dancers... same concept).

WHERE? "Stitch-ins" at our representatives' offices, ICE Watch strategic locations (home improvement parking lots, courthouse, neighborhood watch, etc), outdoor events / protests... other ideas?
