Insect Pinning Workshop
6:00 PM (America/Denver)
Missoula Butterfly House & Insectarium
Description:
Join MBHI's Museum Interpreter and Naturalist for an exciting introductory workshop on insect pinning! You will learn how to prepare insects for pinning, pin two to three specimens from our collection, and leave with instructions on how to mount your specimens when they are dry. Each participant will keep the specimens they pin during class, including one butterfly or moth and one small insect, such as a beetle or bee.
Please note: Insect pinning involves using sharp pins and working with delicate species, so attention to detail, manual dexterity, and patience are key. We do not recommend this workshop for children under 12. This class is limited to 12 participants, and advanced registration is required.
When: Wednesday, February 5th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM
Where: MBHI Classroom
Cost: $100/Non-Member and $80/Member
