Dr. John Miller, freshly returned from working in Zambia, presents “Public Health in Zambia - Strategies and Challenges Addressing the Leading Causes of Death." He is a family physician that works as a locums physician in the United States, in Zuni, New Mexico and Seeley Lake, and overseas in New Zealand and Zambia since 2017. Early in his career, he directed the Diabetes Program for the Indian Health Service in Zuni, New Mexico. After 8 years of living and working on the Zuni reservation, he moved back to Missoula in 2011. He then worked as Medical Director at Partnership Health Center, Missoula's community health center until 2017 where he helped establish the Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana (FMRWM). Dr. Miller, raised in Wallace, Idaho, earned his MD from the University of Washington and Masters in Public Health with a concentration on International Health from Harvard.

The Global Public Health Spring 2020 Lecture series features health professionals who work to improve public health around the world sharing their experiences and insights weekly during the Spring semester.
