MT History Club: Reconstructing Native American Influences on Bison
7:00 PM (America/Denver)

Description:
Montana History Club Speaker: Reconstructing Native American Influences on Bison Populations with Josh Millspaugh
Much has been written about the relationship between Native Americans of Northern Great Plains and the bison population. However, the quantitative influence of Native American hunting on bison populations has received minimal attention. National Park Service policy and management of bison can be informed by such an evaluation. Dr. Millspaugh will explore hunting strategies, the important role of horses in hunting, and consequences to bison population numbers and structure as a result of Native American use. Refreshments provided by Nancy and Lee Silliman and Norm Jacobson. Presentation in the Large Meeting Room. 7:00 PM
